Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Seminar for Muballigheen held in Mombasa, Kenya – December 2013

The workshop attracted 96 participants from various organizations in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda that was led by the Alhaj Sheikh Ayub Rashid from the United Kingdom. The workshop commenced on 17th to the 27th of December 2013 at Bilal Hall.
The Seminar was based on the following topics:
– Leadership and Team building skills
– Community development
– Food & Nutrition
– Teaching methodologies
– Building a community
– Mass Media
– Islam & Economy
– Ulum Al Quran
Other practical initiatives that provoked critical thinking from the participants included debates, question and answer sessions, quote of the day – assigned to different participant every day, practical leadership in prayers and duas.
Individuals who presented papers during the event included: Hassan Kariuki, Sheikh Stambuli A Nassir, Murtaza Jaffer, Salim Chiro and Ust Mohamed Hashim
In his address at the closing ceremony, Sheikh Ayub encouraged the participants to seek knowledge continuously. He also urged them to put in practice what they have learnt in the seminar. “It is one thing to learn, it is another to put into practice what you have learnt.”
The Participants were awarded with certificates and books.
