Opening Ceremony – AMANI CENTER
Sunday 2nd February 2014 was a memorable day for Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya as it was the day when the Amani Center in Mwatate District was officially opened by Dr. Sultan Aly Muhammad Aly Meghji.
Amani Centre was established in the year 1976 with a total of 68 Shia families, 72 students in Pre-Primary class and 84 students in the Madressah classes, which was given a facelift.
The Project involved construction of a new Masjid, two classrooms, a staff quarter for the Imam of the Masjid and common pit latrines. This project has been sponsored by the family of Dr Sultan Aly Muhammad Aly Meghji from Australia.
A traditional warm welcome was given to the guests upon arrival. The entire community, including women and children, gathered for the function.
Special guests included Dr Sultan Aly, Br Bismillah Sultan Aly, Mrs Shabniz Sultan Aly, Al Haj Sayyid Aliraza Naqvi Assistant Secretary General of Islamic Education Board of the World Federation KSI Muslim Communities, Al Hajj Amir Merali, Nominated Councillor of The Federation of KSI Jamaats of Africa and BMMK Trustee, Al Hajj Shaukat Jagani, Trustee KSI Jamaat of Mombasa and other dignitaries from the KSI Jamaat of Mombasa.
Congratulatory messages on the auspicious occasion of the Opening Ceremony of Amani Centre were received from The Federation of KSI Jamaats of Africa and the Central Bilal Board of the Africa Federation.
