The Secretariat of Africa Federation is pleased to inform community members of the screening of the Documentary Film – “The Khoja – A Journey of Faith” in the following Jamaats in Africa.
Arusha: Friday 6th February 2015 at 8.00 p.m. at the Madrassah Hall
Dar-es-Salaam: Saturday 31st January 2015 at 8.30 p.m. at the KSIJ Imambargha
Mombasa: Tuesday 3rd February 2015 at 8.30 p.m. at Pandya Memorial Clinic Auditorium.
Nairobi: Sunday 1st February 2015 at 3.30 p.m. at Jaffery Islamic Centre
This Documentary Film is an Inspiring 650 year Account of the People who Nurtured and Preserved their Faith in the Crucible of Culture and provides an insight of our journey of Faith as well as our migration from our ancestral lands of Kutch and Kathiawad in India from the early 1800 to the present day.
Dr. Hasnain Walji on behalf of Mulla Asgar Memorial Library and Islamic Resource Centre (MARC) of Toronto, Canada will be travelling to Africa to be present during the screening of the Documentary in the Jamaats. He will interview the elders in our community and obtain inputs from the viewers of the Documentary.
Hasnain bhai of Los Angeles, USA who is the Co-chair of the Khoja Heritage Project of the World Federation has travelled round the world for ten months and captured over 100 hours of footage from which this two hour segment has been produced.
We would encourage all our community members, including ladies, youths and students in these Jamaats to attend the screening of this important historical film, which has been produced for the first time in the history of the Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri.
There will also be a screening of this Documentary in Madagascar and Reunion at earliest opportunity.
The Secretariat is thankful to Dr. Hasnain Walji for the enthusiasm and keen interest in this project and to the above Jamaats t for their support and cooperation.
We wish to record our appreciation to Alhaj Hassan Ali M. Jaffer of Mombasa Jamaat (The AFED Coordinator of the Khoja Documentary Film) for the efforts and close coordination with the Jamaats for this program.
