Access to education and trainings to Women in the rural centres have proven to be beneficial in many ways.
Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya conducted a three day Refresher training course for Zainabbiyya Women Group in Masongaleni centre from 21st -23rd February 2019. Sessions during this training were facilitated by Sis Sidi Nyota and Sis Kauchi Chifui.
Topics on Islamic religious education were conducted by Sis. Sofia Salim.
Objective of the training:
- Analyze the roles of office bearers
- Review group laws
- To recall the Loaning procedures
- Maintaining records; passbooks, register and weekly return forms

A risk factor is anything that affects your chance of getting a disease such as cancer. Different cancers have different risk factors. Some risk factors, like smoking, can be changed. Others, like a person’s age or family history, can’t be changed.
But having a risk factor, or even several, does not mean that you will get the disease. Many people with one or more risk factors never get cancer, while others who get cancer may have had few or no known risk factors.
Researchers have found several factors that might affect a man’s risk of getting prostate cancer.

Eight universities are all ranked in the 801-1000 range* and are therefore joint 10th in Africa.

The first of the top universities in Africa to be ranked 701-750 is the Egyptian Ain Shams University, which is ranked 17th in the QS Arab Region University Rankings 2018. Press Release – Alhaj Mohamed Hussein Jaffer of Mombasa Bestowed Honorary Doctorate

It was a moment of joy and pride for the Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri Community when Alhaj Mohamed Hussein Abdulla Jaffer was bestowed with the prestigious Honorary Doctorate of Philosophy in Humanities (PhD) and Peace Award by the United Graduate College & Seminary International.
The function took place on 12th January 2019 in Nairobi. He was also awarded with the World Civility Leadership Award by iChange Nation (ICN).
Mohamed bhai has served the community in different capacities in Mombasa Jamaat and the Africa Federation.

The Chairman of the Federation of the Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri Jamaats of Africa (AFED), Alhaj Shabir Najafi, the Vice Chairman Alhaj Aunali Khalfan, the Hon. Secretary Alhaj Hussein Karim joined by the Hon. Treasurer, Alhaj Mohamed Hemani made a two days’ visit to Mombasa, Kenya from 1st to 2nd February 2019 to attend a Joint Meeting of the AFED Trustees with the Office Bearers for the term 2016-2019. Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi who is the Trustee of Africa Federation also attended the meeting. Others who attended the meeting were; AFED Trustees from Dar es Salaam Alhaj Mehboob Versi, from Uganda Alhaj Ebrahim Kassam and from Mombasa, Alhaj Sultan Molu.
The Trust Board meeting took place on Saturday 2nd February to discuss several key issues, including projects and future plans of our fixed assets; the existing assets disposals, redevelopment etc. in order to bring about better income for the institution. Alhaj Ahmed Alloo, the head of accounts in AFED Secretariat office also attended the meeting.

TOWARDS STRONG SOCIAL/SPIRITUAL COMMUNITY
The Africa Federation Tabligh Board (AFTAB) organized a two-day workshop titled Towards Strong Social/Spiritual Community for the constituent Jamaats. The underline goal of this program was to synchronize institutions to identify and address on the on-going social challenges for enhancing spiritual development of our community.
This program was also to create effective networking and provide a platform to discuss and address some of the contemporary issues as well as challenges pertaining to social vices facing the community in this globalized world under the influence of social media.
