Visitors to the AFED Secretariat Office
The Africa Federation (AFED) Secretariat in Dar es Salaam had the honor to receive several distinguished dignitaries and scholars during the months of Zilhajj, Muharram and Safar.
During these visits, AFED office bearers held discussions covering various subjects including core issues on the current affairs. The highlights of the discussions were about the challenges the Muslim communities are facing in the light of the current developments and rampant changes occurring in several parts of the world, more emphasis were placed in enhancing public relationships, inter and intra-faith networking, cooperation and visits.
Mostly all Scholars emphasized on creating conducive platforms and environment for the youth of our community to enhance spirituality, personal development training, Islamic studies through short course like crash programs, volunteering and community services.
The holy month of Ramadhan, and months of Muharram and Safar are unique period with abundant opportunities for the community members to learn, to reflect and to ponder upon the various lectures and majalises delivered by learned scholars visiting our Jamaats in Africa.
One of the visiting scholars made a comment, he said – “Muharram and Safar are the best months like the holy month of Ramadhan. The rationale of Majalises and Lectures in Imambarghas are very much like Open Universities of Learning in Academia, and our youths in particular must take full advantage of these opportunities, more so for them to understand, reflect and contemplate thereby develop themselves spiritually and academically”.
AFED also had the honor of the presence of the World Federation President Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi during some these visits.
We wish to express our deep appreciation and gratitude to the Scholars, dignitaries and officials for taking their valuable time for the visit which has been of great process of learning, information and exchange of ideas.
