This year like in the previous years, Arusha Jamaat organized the annual AFED Solidarity Day Walk on Sunday, 13th of May 2018 involving male and female members, as expected from the close-knit and vibrant community members they showed up in big numbers to support this noble cause with great passion.
The program started from the mosque compound at 8.30 a.m. where everyone assembled and the walk commenced at 9.00 a.m. with the blessings of some verses from the Holy Qur’an. Old and young including children braved in the drizzling cold walked together in Solidarity cognizant of the underline purpose of the walk – a noble cause to bring about awareness of the importance of celebrations of the auspicious occasion of the birth of the Awaited Imam, Al Hujjah Al Mahdi (ATFS) and fundraising for the plight of the needy and deserving in our community.





This year’s walk ended at the youth league where marquees were pitched for the gents and ladies. Activities such as auction which was ably conducted by Alhaj Amir Somji to raise funds to which members of the community contributed whole-heartedly. The Walkers also raised good sum of money through sponsorships, donations etc. We are grateful to the donors for their generosity and to the volunteers for their tireless efforts in organizing such a brilliant program.
The Solidarity Day event ended at 11.00 a.m. with Dua-e-Hujjat and a short lecture by the resident Aalim, Seyed Imran Naqvi followed with brunch and hot drinks for all participants of the walk. It was a profound demonstration of love and allegiance towards our Imam, Al Hujjah Al Mahdi (ATFS) and commitment to help the needy.
The Arusha Jamaat veterans came out in full force and participated in the walk, this was a huge encouragement to the youngsters and children impacting positively in the minds of the young and upcoming generations.
The Solidarity Day Walk provides an impeccable platform to our community members to get-together and walk for a common cause in unity and for a purpose. May Allah (SWT) grant our community members Tawfeeqat and Inspiration to continue supporting such programs and we pray for all for their good health, longevity of life and success – Ameen.
