
The Africa Federation Secretariat had the honor to welcome long-serving Lindi Jamaat Hon. Secretary, Alhaj Mahmood Razahussein Dhalla who is on a visit to Dar es Salaam. During his visit a meeting was held with the AFED Vice Chairman, Alhaj Aunali Khalfan and the Assistant Hon. Secretary, Br. Alihassan Kassam and various topics were discussed.

Discussions were centered on the future plans of the Jamaat, especially with the present dwindling number of families due to migration to other cities in Tanzania. Mahmood bhai explained that there are some good and viable opportunities in Lindi region and our community members should look into shifting to Lindi. He pointed out that housing and business outlets are not expensive compared to other cities in Tanzania.
AFED Vice Chairman was pleased to learn from Mahmood bhai that the Jamaat has eventually obtained Title Deeds of the 8 properties of Lindi KSI Jamaat, this includes the Kabrastan, Mosque and Imambargha. It was a mammoth task, and took a long time to accomplish, the AFED Vice Chairman commended Alhaj Mahmood Bhai and Murrabbi Razahussein Dhalla, the Trustees of the Jamaat for their tireless efforts.
Mahmood bhai also mentioned on the current status of the three residential and commercial buildings which needs major renovations and facelift, he also pointed out that the income deriving from the rent from these buildings are minimal, and some tenants are not paying rent regularly.

Lindi Jamaat with the assistance of the AFED Trustee, Alhaj Mehboob Versi are now working on the Mingoyo Mosque and Kabrastan properties for obtaining the Title Deeds. AFED will continue to support the Jamaats in their efforts to obtain and update all documents – Registration, Title Deeds etc.
