The pioneers of the Solidarity Charity Walk – Arusha Jamaat once again organized the Walk for the 5th consecutive year on Sunday 14th May 2017 to raise funds for the AFED Solidarity Day. The theme for this Year’s Walk was Walk, Support and Donate.
The Participants in the walk included ladies, gents, old, young and children, and the walk commenced from Ex-Tiger Super Market Njiro to the KSI Jamaat Mosque, in Arusha town. It is noteworthy to witness women in good numbers participated.
The event marking the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of the Awaited Imam al Hujjah al Mahdi (ATFS) being organized annually by the Africa Federation Secretariat with the support and cooperation from the constituent Jamaats in mainland Africa, Madagascar and Reunion Territorial Councils and its Jamaats.
The Solidarity Day Walk being one of the several events organized by the Jamaats for the purpose of fund raising also provides good opportunity for the community members to meet, get-together and benefit from the exercise of the body and mind.
The closing was marked with a short speech by the Arusha veteran, Alhaj Amir Somji with presentations to the participants followed by brunch for all.
Once again, hats off to Kilimeru Sports Club of Arusha for the publicity and organizing the Walk. Thanks to all the participants who graciously sacrificed their time and braved the cold weather of Arusha in the morning to demonstrate their solidarity with the rest of the community members and raising funds for their fellow brothers in need.
Africa Federation Secretariat is grateful to Arusha Jamaat President, Alhaj Shabbir Virjee, the Office Bearers, Managing Committee and Trustees of Arusha Jamaat, AFED Councillors, the immediate past President of Arusha Jamaat, Alhaj Gulamhussein Mukhtar, the elders, youth and children of the community for the participation in the Charity Walk to raise funds for this noble cause and for making it an annual event.
