The two Vice Chairmen of Africa Federation, Alhaj Shabir Najafi and Alhaj Amine Nassor, who is also the Chairman of Union Des Associations Khodjas Shia Isnashri De La Reunion (UAKSIR) accompanied by the Hon. Secretary of Africa Federation, Alhaj Aunali Khalfan attended the 32nd Assembly of Conseil Regional Des Khojas Shia Ithna-Asheri Jamates De L’Ocean Indien (CROI).
The Assembly was held in Imambargha, at Ankorondrano in the capital city of Antananarivo on Friday, 5th and Saturday 6th, June 2015, hosted by KSI Jamaat of Antananarivo.





Heads of 11 Jamaats of Madagascar and Councilors from Tananarive, Tulear, Majunga, Maevatanana, Antsirabe, Morondava, Antsohihy, Tamatave, Ambovombe, Fianar, Fort-Dauphin and Mauritius Jamaat attended the Assembly. Past leaders and invitees were also present throughout the two days Session.
CROI Chairman, Alhaj Navazaly Molou, his office bearers, heads of various Boards presented annual reports of activities, resolutions including financial report. The discussions were constructive and fruitful covering several subjects, and updates were provided on various activities undertaken by CROI in the Jamaats of Madagascar.
The AFED Vice Chairman, Alhaj Shabir Najafi conveyed message from the Chairman of Africa Federation, Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi who could not attend due to recent surgery had undergone in Ahmedabad, India. Shabir Bhai in his address spoke on the need and importance of unity with more focus on the youth, education and economic development. He stressed the necessity of building bridges of cooperation and relationships with other communities and faiths, especially under the current environment and the prevailing challenges. He congratulated CROI for taking initiatives and working closely with other communities and in supporting the indigenous population with food and other necessities.
The AFED Vice Chairman and the Chairman of UAKSIR said in his address that he was pleased to witness the good cooperation that exists amongst the Jamaats and stressed on the need to promote good understanding and in supporting each other. He underscored the importance of exchanging visits and sharing of best practices.
Chairmen of the Jamaats from various regions of Madagascar shared their views on the CROI annual report and they also provided brief reports of their Jamaats and the challenges they face in several matters, including shortage of well trained teachers for Madressahs.
AFED Vice Chairman, Alhaj Shabir Najafi explained on the current initiatives by the World Federation and Africa Federation on the Madressah Centre of Excellence (MCE) and requested CROI to take up this project on board with all Madressahs in Madagascar so that we are all aligned with the Madressah common curriculum etc.
On behalf of the Chairman and the office bearers of AFED, we are grateful for the invitation to attend the CROI 32nd Assembly in Antananarivo, and for a fruitful meeting between CROI and AFED office bearers, covering several issues and matters concerning Conseil Regional of Madagascar and AFED.
