Alhaj Aunn Alibhai, the Chairman of Kinshasa Jamaat in DRC during his recent visit to Dar-es-Salaam paid a courtesy call at the AFED Secretariat office at Zahra Tower on Sunday 25th August 2018 and met with the Africa Federation Vice Chairman, Alhaj Aunali Khalfan and Hon Secretary Alhaj Hussein Karim.
The meeting provided a good opportunity to discuss a number of subjects of common interest to both, Kinshasa Jamaat and Africa Federation which included Higher Education, Tabligh, Madressah Centre of Excellence, Leadership Development Program and Mosque/Imambargha extension. AFED has offered to Kinshasa Jamaat technical assistance in the planning and development of the newly acquired plot adjacent to the Imambargha to cater for the increasing needs of the Jamaat due to growth.

Kinshasa Jamaat is one of the Jamaats in Africa which is growing steadily due to migration of our brothers from the Subcontinent venturing for the job opportunities. In the last 30 years, the population of members has grown from about 300 to 600 last year and currently the population stands at about 700. The Census exercise currently being carried out by AFED Census Bureau will provide proper statistics of the Jamaat.
AFED in collaboration with the Kinshasa Jamaat are planning to conduct teachers training program, Leadership and Youth Development Programs under the Africa Federation Capacity Building Group (CBG).
The AFED Office Bearers also met Alhaj Gulamraza Datoo, Chairman of the KSIMC of Birmingham during his visit to Dar-es-Salaam. The visit provided a good opportunity to exchange views and discuss matters of mutual interest. Alhaj Gulamraza also provided an update on the progress of the Abbasi Islamic Centre Project under construction in Birmingham. Birmingham Jamaat officials recently toured several countries in Africa where they met with the Jamaat leadership and members seeking support for the development of the Centre in Birmingham, the support was quite encouraging.
