BILAL MUSLIM MISSION OF TANZANIA CELEBRATES GRAND OCCASSION OF MAULID OF THE HOLY PROPHET (S.A.W.W) AT UDOWE – DAR ES SALAAM

Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania (BMMT) organized a grand program to celebrate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W) on the eve of 16th January 2016, after Isha prayers, a grand event was witnessed with big gathering of more than 1,200 Muslims both ladies and gents from all communities of different sects at Bilal Islamic Center (Masjid at Udowe), Kariakoo, Ilala municipalty in Dar es Salaam.




The Maulid function was combined with interfaith program which was attended by prominent Ulemas and Shuyukh from different Muslim sects. The Guest of Honour for this function was the Mufti of Tanzania, Sheikh Abubakar Zubeir.
Others in attendance were the Chief Kadhi of Tanzania Alhaj Sheikh Abdallah Yusuf Nyasi, Member of the Tanzania Council of the Ulema Alhaj Sheikh Hamid Masoud Jongo, BAKWATA Regional Sheikh Alhaj Mussa Al-Haadi, Scholar and Mudir of Hawzatul Imam Sadiq (a.s) Sheikh Hemedi Jalala and many other shuyukh and Imams of Masajid including; Mtoro, Manyema, Kitumbini, Kinondoni, Makonde mosques. Good attendance of teachers and students from different Madrassahs in Dar es Salaam.
This interfaith Maulid program was well represented by dignitaries that included Chairman of Africa Federation, Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi, Hon. Secretary of Africa Federation Alhaj Aunali Khalfan, Hon. Treasurer of Africa Federation, Alhaj Mohamed Hemani, President of KSI Jamaat of Dar es Salaam, Alhaj Azim Dewji, Secretary General of The World Federation, Alhaj Kumail Manji, the Iranian Ambassador to Tanzania, H.E. Agha Jaffery and other Iranian officials, Central Bilal Board Chairman, Alhaj Mohsin Lalji, past BMMT Chairman, Alhaj Murtaza Jivraj (Kerbala), CEO of BMMT Alhaj Amir Ahmed, BMMT Head of Tabligh Syed Arif Ali Naqvi and BMMT officials and volunteers. There were also many elders from our Jamaat and other communities. Ladies from our Jamaat and from several Muslim communities attended in large numbers.
Guests were received by the ladies and gents volunteers respectively from Udowe Mosque and BMMT with warm welcome as they arrived for the function.
The program commenced with recitation of verses from the Holy Qurán and proceeded with various Qasidas beautifully recited by both Shia and Sunni Madrassahs and Hawza students praising the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W), 4 “Barzanji” chapters which captivated the gathering. Lectures by prominent speakers between the Qasidas were impressive with emphasis on how the Muslim communities should support and promote nearness between different sects. The messages that came out was on bridging relationships and building stronger unity amongst all sects of Muslim communities irrespective of their beliefs. Sheikh Mussabah Shaiban stress on Islamic Sprits, he said Muslims must unite conscientiously and spiritually, and not only physically.
In the concluding speech, since the guest of honor Mufti of Tanzania was not well and left earlier, the Member of the Tanzania Council of Ulema Alhaj Sheikh Hamid Masoud Jongo represented him and also quoted from Sheikh Hemedi Jalala’s speech that the Muslim Ummah should consider the oneness of their believes on Qalema, 5 times Salaah, Ramadhan Saum, Hajj and all common acts that Muslims sects share which unify them and make them strong to fight against the enemies of Islam and their malice propaganda.



The Maulid congregation brought the Muslims from different sects to celebrate the auspicious birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (SAWW) with one motive, to understand the nobility and the divine mission of the Holy Prophet (SAWW) for all mankind, it was also an occasion to build unity and brotherhood and make Muslims aware of the malice propaganda by anti-Islamic factions who are bent upon to divide the Muslims and creating animosity within.
Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania is honored to host such a grandeur event which had not been witnessed for a very long time, and also convey the messages from Ahlulbayt (AS) on Islam and Humanity at large.
