Muharram 1438 A.H. Activities
With the sighting of moon of Muharram, the final month of Islamic calendar Zil Hajj come to an end. The new Islamic year begins with the holy month of Muharram which brings with it the memory of the sacrifice of Imam Hussain (A.S.).
The Muslims followers of Ahlulbayt (A.S.) across the globe commemorate the event of Kerbala which took place on the 10th Muharram 61 A.H. (680 A.D.) The greatest tragedy in the Islamic history on the day Imam Hussain (A.S.), the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (SAWW), his family members and companions were massacred by the ruthless forces of Yazid son of Muawiya bin Abi Sufiyan, a tyrant and corrupt self-proclaimed Caliph of the Muslim Ummah, who violated the Islamic Shariah and humanitarian values and human rights.
Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania (BMMT) like every year organizes various programs and events to enlighten members of the public on the mission of Imam Hussain (A.S.) through these programs at Bilal Centres. The underline purpose is to explain participants in different ways the history of Islam and the sacrifice of Imam Hussain (A.S.).
Regular Majalis, Special ladies Darsah, Matam and Nyaz at various Bilal centers
As customary, daily thought provoking Majalises on the history and current topics were conducted by the Scholars and Mubaligheens, also subjects on unity, brotherhood and the Message of Humanity of Kerbala and Sacrifice were delivered.



Peaceful procession (Juloos), interfaith gathering and Blood Donation:
Ladies, Gents, Students and Children from different centres throughout Tanzania participated in different ways in the commemoration either through Juloos (peaceful procession), interfaith gathering or Blood donation to promote awareness on the message of Aba Abdillahil Hussayn (A.S.)

At various interfaith gathering which were held and where the message of Kerbala was discussed and distribution of books and water in the name of Imam Hussayn (A.S.) was undertaken by the Bilal Youth and Students who are studying in Bilal Hawza in Dar es Salaam and Bilal Centres.

The Senior Hawza students participated in several programs and projects in support of the initiatives by other organizations of our community. The Message of Kerbala through distribution of Sabil and books were made at various stations. The Bilal Hawza students also fully participated in explaining the event at the Kerbala at the Kerbala Project organized by the Boys Scouts of KSI Jamaat, Dar Es Salaam.

The Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania also organized Blood Drive at its various centers that include Moshi, Mwanza, Kigoma and Tanga creating awareness and serve the humanity in support of #HussainSavesLives by giving blood in the name of Imam Hussain (A.S.).

Other outdoor activities:
Several activities were carried out in keeping alive the Muharram motto and propagation in many ways that include:
• Posting of Mubaligheen at different centers for the members to attain maximum benefits from the lectures and Majalis
• T-Shirts printing
• Fliers
• Banners with messages
• Sponsored Radio programs.
• BMMT with their Mubalighs also joined hands with Dar Tabligh in explaining and replying to questions which public had inquired Q &A stores during the Juloos.

Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania expresses its gratitude to Africa Federation, Central Bilal Board (CBB) for their support and guidance, we are grateful to all the donors and well-wishers for their timely support in assisting in one way or the other for in our programs enabling us to deliver the message of Kerbala to the masses.
We recognize the efforts of the Regional heads for their continuous hard work throughout the year in assisting to accomplish Mission’s goal especially during this Holy month of Muharram.
Special thanks to all members of Bilal Muslim Mission Centres, Hawzatul Bilal and Bilal Comprehensive School (BCS) for their collaboration in the activities and spreading the message of Imam Hussein (A.S.).
