We are pleased to provide a brief report of the various religious, social and humanitarian activities carried out by Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania (BMMT), Tanga branch during the holy month of Ramadhan 1437 A.H.
VISIT OF HAFIDHUL QUR’AN – SHAIKH MUHAMMADTAKI KHAN
During the last week of Shab’an 1437 AH, BMMT, Tanga was blessed by the visit of Shk. Muhammadtaki Khan, who has memorized the Holy Qur’an in 52 different ways.
During his three day stay in Tanga region, he also visited various Sunni mosques including Msikiti wa Ijumaa (Str.No.9), Zahrau Islamic Centre, TAMTA, Pangani and Horohoro border. Bilal Tanga would like to thank Shk. Muhammadtaki Khan and his team for accepting our invitation and carrying out the Tabligh work through the Holy book in Tanga region. May the Almighty accept his and his companion’s efforts and devotions, Ameen.

MAHE RAMADHAN RELIEF FUND AND DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD RATION
BMMT, Tanga branch carried out distribution of food during the Holy Month Ramadhan 1437 A.H.
A total of 1,023 Shia families who reside in 25 centres run by BMMT – Tanga benefitted from the relief distribution with each family getting 10kg rice, 10kg of wheat flour, 5kg of sugar. Almost 230 bags of 30kg each of dates was distributed in all the centres including some of the Sunni institutions in Tanga city. The entire distribution was personally supervised by Mudir of Hawzatul Qaim, Sheikh Amiri Kipingu. BMMT – Tanga also sponsored Iftaar for all 30 days which was served in all these centres.

HAWZA, MADRESSAH AND NURSERY SCHOOL PRESENTATION
MADRESSA
As in previous years, BMMT-Tanga carried out terminal prize giving ceremony for its Madressah students during the Holy month of Ramadhan 1437 AH.
More than one thousand Madressah students from all the 27 centres under Bilal Tanga branch took part in the terminal exams conducted during the month of Shab’an 1437 A.H. The top three in each centre were presented with gifts and the students who took the overall top three positions in all the centres (i.e. REGIONAL TOP THREE) walked away with additional gifts. Consolation prize of White kanzu and cap for boys and Chaadar for girls were presented to all the students who took part in the exam.
This year we had for the first time in the history of Bilal Tanga branch a student who completed the full eleven years course of Madressah studies. Br Ibrahim Dura was awarded a certificate in recognition for his achievement.

HAWZA
Bilal Tanga also presented 68 Hawza students both boys and girls studying in Al-Qaim Hawza in Tanga and 19 students studying in Hawzatul Amir-ul-Mu’mineen in Pangani.
Hajj ticket was presented to the best student of Standard 4 Abdallah Ally Mgomba.

NURSERY
Along with Madressah and Hawza presentation, Bilal Tanga also presented Nursery students studying in the four Nursery schools run under its umbrella.
Around 200 students who sat for the terminal exams were presented with consolation gifts with the top three taking home additional gifts.

ELDERLY PEOPLE
Bilal Tanga also presented a total 151 elderly people out of a total of 769 people who took part in the terminal exam and got an average of 80% and above.
