BILAL MUSLIM MISSION OF TANZANIA HOLDS
FREE EYE CAMP AT KILOSA IN MOROGORO REGION
(22-26 APRIL 2016)
The Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania organized a 4-Days Free Eye Camp upon the invitation received from Member of Parliament Mh. Bawazir Kisa.
Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania conducted the Camp from 22nd to 26th April 2016 at Kilosa District which is 310 kms from Dar es Salaam; the surgeries were sponsored by BETA Charitable Trust, Essex of U.K.
Camp was set at Mazinyungu Primary School and the surgeries performed at Kilosa Hospital at their common surgery section.
People from various villages in the Kilosa District registered for the Free Eye treatment, and 3,380 patients of various ages were screened, details are given below:
SUMMARY STATISTICS OF THE CAMP:
The Kilosa public besides receiving the medical attention for the Eye Camp by Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania, with the help of Hon. MP the volunteers distributed used clothes, food ration, mosquito nets, solar lights and kitchen items to flood victims, exercise books and footballs to nearby schools.
APPRECIATION
The Bilal Muslim Mission Tanzania wishes to express profound appreciation to the BETA Charitable Trust of Essex, U.K. for sponsoring the surgeries that were carried out at the Camp.
Our deep appreciation goes to Tanzania Road Haulage (1980) Ltd. – TRH for the transport arrangements with expert drivers’ skills that facilitated all the Eye Camp members through the flood affected roads.
We are thankful to the entire team of doctors, nurses, volunteers, regional and District Government Authorities and medical officers, the School administration and teachers, the Tanzania Police Force and all those who in one way or the other supported and facilitated the successful conduct of the Camp.
