A ‘Stronger’ emphasis on Career Counselling
Over the last few years, the Education Board of Africa Federation has been working with the various community schools and Jamaats to encourage a greater emphasis on career counseling. Education Board uses the Strong Interest Inventory Assessments to further reinforce the concept of Career Assessments in our community schools and to our community students.
Recently, Africa Federation supported Sis. Sajida Z Master who is also a certified career counselor and Administrative Secretary of the Education Board to acquire accreditation for the administering of the Strong Interest Inventory Assessments that qualifies her to provide this service to the community. Being a career counselor as well allows Sis. Sajida to provide a complete package of support to the students of our community beyond just the assessment.
The Strong Interest Inventory Assessment is one of the world’s most respected and widely used career planning tools. It provides robust insight into a person’s interests, so you can help them to consider potential careers, their educational path and the world of work. Built on psychologist John Holland’s theory, it’s backed by more than 80 years of research into how people of similar interests are employed, and what motivates individuals in the workplace. It delivers effective and powerful results that contribute to your students’ success.
The Strong Interest Inventory Assessment supports the students in choosing a college major, career exploration, career development and employee engagement covering various facets of career planning.
If you are interested in taking the assessment please contact the Education Board Secretariat for further information on education@africafederation.org
