Announcement – Essay and Quiz Competition held by the AFED Women’s Board
The Africa Federation Women’s Board (AFWB) held an Essay and Quiz Competition for ladies of the Community. The objective of the Competition was:
To educate women on the Islamic viewpoint of family ethics, to inculcate morals and spiritual principles that oversee relationships between family members and to give an Islamic insight into the Life of Our Role Models like the Lady of Light.
This Competition was held in celebration of the Wiladah of the Lady of Light Bibi Fatimah Zahra (AS). The competition was launched on the Wiladah of Bibi Zainab (AS) – and submission was done on the wiladah of the Lady of Light Janabe Fatimah (AS).
The aim of the essay writing was to involve all the ladies under Africa Federation Jamaats to contribute their views on a good Family Life and discuss the structure of an ideal family as adored by Islam. Also discuss the bonding of a family, marriage and child upbringing responsibilities according to Islam and how it influences the society.
The 46 Essays were very well structured and written according to the given criteria, this made it even more difficult and challenging for the judges to come up with winners. Since the Board only had to come up with one winner, a decision had to be made to pick the winner.
We have five runners up who also presented very good essays. All the participants will also receive Certificates of participation and some cash prize of consolation. This is just a small token of gratitude for all their good efforts; the ultimate reward shall be from the Almighty (SWT).
The Essay submitted by Sister. Masuma Habib of Nairobi Jamaat was adjudged the best essay of the Competition
