We are pleased to inform the Community that the construction works of the Al Asghary Housing Project in Dar-es-Salaam has commenced. This Project in Dar-es-Salaam is on Plot No 1701/208 on Band Street (corner of Libya Street), Dar es Salaam consisting of 18 apartments and two shops on the ground floor in total. The Building has nine (9) floors and each floor consists of a three and two bedroom apartment.
This is in line with the vision of the Africa Federation which is to facilitate 100 apartments in Dar es Salaam during this term, 2016-2019, so as to give ownership opportunity to our members. We shall continue to work jointly with KSI Jamaat of Dar es Salaam, the World Federation and various donors and well-wishers to achieve this objective.
This Housing Project will be on the basis of “Rent-To-Own” scheme, primarily for the first time home owners, basic income earning community members from the Dar es Salaam Jamaat.
Landmark Dates:
- 17th January 2016 – Handover of the plot by Alhaj Gulambhai Dewji (GD) to AFED
- 16th June 2016 – Ground breaking ceremony
- 30th September 2016 – Award and Signing of the Contract (Mohammedi Builders)
- 19th October 2016 – First Site meeting and handover of plot to the contractor
- 30th April 2018 – Expected completion and handover to AFED

- STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS: Chavda Al Mohamedia Consultants Ltd
- QUANTITY SURVEYOR: Cost Plan Group
- ELECTRICAL & MECHANICAL ENGINEER: Sprint Engineering Consults Ltd
- MAIN CONTRACTOR: Mohammedi Builders Ltd
The AFED Housing Board with KSI Jamaat of Dar es Salaam will jointly prepare a policy document on the scheme here above mentioned to include also the eligibility criteria.
Thankfully, by the Grace and Blessings of Allah (SWT) this project has been possible with the support of the generous donation of the plot by Alhaj Gulambhai Dewji (GD) family, the financial support of the World Federation of KSIM Communities, the Sanitas Merali Trust of the United Kingdom and the AFED well-wishers. We are very grateful to the WF Executive Councillor, Alhaj Ahmed Daya of the United Kingdom for the encouragement and his untiring support for the housing projects undertaken by AFED for our community members of the Jamaats under AFED.
Let us pray that we achieve our goals, Insha’allah with the support and collaboration of our parent body, member Jamaats and worldwide well-wishers in making all our members in need to own their own house, this will provide a big boost to the families, both socially and economically for their future wellbeing.
