The Al Asghary Housing Project in Dar-Es-Salaam city is a joint project of the World Federation and Africa Federation in collaboration with the KSI Jamaat of Dar-Es-Salaam for our community members of Dar-Es-Salaam.
We are pleased to inform our community members that the Opening Ceremony of the Al Asghary Housing Project was held on Sunday 29th April 2018. This is a first Rent-to-Own scheme for a housing project undertaken by the above mentioned Institutions.
The Opening Ceremony coincided with the 80th AFED Supreme Council Session held in Dar-es-Salaam from 27th to 29th April 2018 providing opportunity to the Councillors and Invitees from outside Dar-es-Salaam to grace the occasion, and to view the project.
The ceremony was attended by the President of the World Federation, Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi, the Chairman of the Africa Federation, Alhaj Shabir Najafi, the President of Dar-Es-Salaam Jamaat, Alhaj Azim Dewji, Former President of the World Federation, Dr. Asgher Moledina, Presidents and Councillors from several Jamaats of the Africa Federation, Trustees, Dignitaries, Invitees and the owners of the flats at Al Asghary Residency who shall soon occupy the flats.
The Building comprises of three shops, a Godown on the ground floor and 18 apartments (9 of three-bedroom and 9 of two-bedroom apartments) spread over (9) nine floors on Plot No. 1701/208 on Band Street (corner of Libya Street) in Dar es Salaam city was completed in 18 months. There is also a spacious terrace on top which will provide good facilities for functions etc. This will be managed by the Management Committee.
Al Asghary Residency is the second building in Dar-Es-Salaam built by the Africa Federation jointly with the World Federation; the first one is the Al Sadiq Residency at Tandamti in Kariakoo area whereby Dar-Es-Salaam Jamaat provided a plot and the entire cost of construction was shared between the World Federation, Africa Federation and some donors. The building named Al Sadiq has 7 floors comprising of 12 flats of one-bedroom and 8 flats of two-bedroom with two shops on the ground floor. This project was completed in May 2011.
The President of World Federation, Chairman of Africa Federation, President of Dar-es-Salaam Jamaat and Chairman of the AFED Housing Board addressed the gathering and thanked all those who had contributed towards the Project in one way or the other.
At this wonderful occasion, the AFED Housing Development Board honored and presented Awards to the Donors, Contractors, Engineers, Consultants, Architects and all individuals who had assisted towards the construction of this Building.
The Housing Development Board of the Africa Federation will continue to focus and work harder on the AFED’s Chairman Vision on Housing and we pray to the Almighty for strength to enable them accomplish the goals of facilitating at least 200 apartments across the various Jamaats of Africa – some of which are already in process.
The World Federation Gifts a New Double Cab Toyota Pickup to Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania.
There was also a brief celebration and a delightful occasion for Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania to receive a brand new Toyota Double-Cab Pickup worth US$35K from the World Federation of KSIMC of United Kingdom. A brief ceremony was performed immediately following the Opening Ceremony of Al Asghary Residency at the site. The handover was done jointly by the present and former Presidents of the World Federation, Anwar Bhai Dharamsi and Dr. Asgher Moledina to Mohsin bhai Lalji, Chairman of Central Bilal Board and Muslim Bhai Meghji, Chairman of Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania on behalf of Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania for Bilal Tabligh activities in Dar Es Salaam.
We are very grateful to the World Federation of KSIM Communities, Gulam bhai Dewji (GD), Ahmed bhai Daya, the WF Executive Councillor, The SANITAS Merali Trust of U.K. for their support towards Al Asghary Residency which has enable Africa Federation to carry out its vision and mission to support our member Jamaats and our Community members to become home-owners.
We also wish to thank the World Federation of KSIM Communities for the donation of a brand new Toyota Double-Cab pickup for Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania which will enable the mission to carry out its various activities more efficiently and effectively.
Our sincere appreciation to the Chairman of the Housing Development Board of AFED, Br. Akil Hirji and his entire board members comprising of Br. Azim Mawji, Sr. Shakera Dhanani and Sr. Zakiya Khamisa for their untiring efforts in ensuring good standard of construction and finishing of Al Asghary Residency building and on time completion within the prescribed budget.
We pray to Allah (SWT) for all the people who were involved and who supported financially or otherwise in Al Asghary Residency building and for the donation of a brand new Toyota Double-Cab pickup for Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania.
