The Africa Federation Chairman, Alhaj Shabir Najafi is pleased to appoint Brother Shabbirhussein Pyarali Khalfan as the Chairman of the Africa Federation Capacity Building Group Board for the term 2019 – 2022.
This Board was recently established following the adoption of the Resolution presented by the AFED Secretariat at the 27th Ordinary Conference held in Mombasa in April 2019.
Shabbirhussein has served as Treasurer of CBG during the term 2013- 2016 and as the Lead for CBG for the term 2016 – 2019. His keen interest and passion in the field of education and training gained over the years has not only helped him in his development but also our Institution. His vast experience as a life coach, mentor and facilitator presents an added advantage to his career and also supporting CBG in pursuing its objectives.
Brief Profile
Shabbirhussein was born in Bukoba and where he attended his primary and secondary school education; he pursued ‘A’ levels education at Mazengo in Dodoma. He is a holder of bachelors of Science in Systems analysis and design from Institute of Data Processing Management U.K.
He established Fikrafya Foundation with a vision to create awareness and fight stigma involving mental health – a mission inspired after his mother going through the condition.
Besides, he holds several credentials as a facilitator, meditator in personal development fields like Mental Health, Psychotherapy, Art Therapy, Neuro Linguistic programming, First Aid and Community Fit Champion Trainer.
He is also a British Psychology Society certified Psychometric tool administrator for both Test User occupational ability and personality.
Shabbirhussein has served in various capacities in the Jamaat and other charity organizations for a number of years, as mentioned below:
- A founder member and secretary of Izaas Medical project charity organization which prides in donating more than 1000 limbs, prosthesis and walking aids crafted from locally available resources in third world countries.
- At Jamaat level he has served various posts including volunteer, discipline head, Madressah teacher, Welfare committee member, Vice chairman, Education board Representative, Health Board Representative and Councilor to the Supreme Council of Africa Federation.
- Founder Chairman of Jaffery Secondary School – The first collaborative project between Shia Ismailia and Shia Ithnaasheri Jamaat of Bukoba in Tanzania.
- Head Neuropsychology of Learning for AFtab.
- Collaborated in various Youth Camps in Tanzania, UK and India and has also led groups of volunteers from Europe and America to various communities to serve and undergo personal development program simultaneously.
The following are the Capacity Building Team for the term 2019 – 2022:
Shabbirhussein bhai along with his dedicated team of experienced Board members are keen and determined to take up this challenging role of CBG with renewed impetus to boost the team’s vision in capacity building and creating awareness that people from different backgrounds have potential for growth and talent development. Similarly, to inspire and foster Islamic values thereby yielding vibrant, happy and confident individuals across our community.
Aligned with the Africa Federation bigger Vision on Capacity Building and Leadership Skills/Talents Development programs, the key focus of the Board during this term shall be towards conducting workshops and developmental training within AFED Jamaats and supporting other Regional Federations and community members in various stages of developments.
The AFED Secretariat extends its heartiest congratulations to Shabbirhussein Khalfan and his team on their appointments and wish them every success in attaining the goals and objectives set out for the term 2019-2022.
