Zahra Residency – ‘Rent To Own’ Housing Project
The first housing project for rent to own, located in a prime residential district in Ambodiovanjo Ivandry for the First Time Buyers was launched in August 2018 with Quadruple collaboration, involving the World Federation (WF), Africa Federation (AFED), KSI Jamaat of Antananarivo and Conseil Regional of Madagascar (CROI). The Rent-To-Own housing project consists of 5 storeys building with 30 apartments in total, out of which 10 units are 3-bedroom apartments and 20 units are 2-bedroom apartments along with parking space for each apartment.
By the grace and blessings of Allah (SWT), the project is progressing well on schedule with ground floor and first floor levels already completed. The contractor, Colas Construction Company is currently working on the second-floor slab that will be casted in the coming weeks.
The Madagascar Housing Project Committee includes the following members: Sheikh Haniphe Akbaraly, Mr. Feride Ismael, Mr. Goulam Lakoubay, Mr. Kassim Lakoubay, Mr. Mamod Nourmamod from CROI and from AFED; Housing Board Chairman, Mr. Akil Hirji, Board members Mr. Ashfak Vallimamod and Alhaj Navazaly Molou. The Housing project committee is working hand in hand with the contractor to complete the project in time whilst ensuring the standard and quality of the construction work is fully maintained.
The AFED Housing Board Chairman, Akil bhai Hirji held a meeting with the Housing Project Committee whereby he elaborated on the concept of the ‘Rent-To-Own’ housing scheme and how this will benefit members in long term.
Following the 35th Ordinary Conference of Conseil Regional of Madagascar in March 2019 in Antananarivo, the Housing Project Committee organized a visit to the site of the project to witness the progress. The delegation from Africa Federation included Chairman Shabir Najafi, AFED Trustee and WF President, Anwarali Dharamsi, AFED Vice Chairman Aunali Khalfan, AFED Vice Chairman from Madagascar and CROI Chairman, Sheikh Haniphe Akbaraly, AFED Councillor from Madagascar, Navazaly Molou, Alhaj Raza Aly Hiridjee, Alhaj Sabirhoussen Goulamaly and other members.
AFED Housing Board Chairman Alhaj Akil Hirji would like to extend his sincere gratitude to the Housing Project Committee of Madagascar for the good work that is being done to make sure the project is completed as per schedule. Akil bhai Hirji and some Board Members are planning a visit to Madagascar soon.
Insha’allah, by the grace of Almighty Allah (SWT), the project is expected for handover by September 2020.
