Bilal Tanga Girls Hawza Building Project:
Alhamdulillah, the project is progressing at good pace and finishes that started in May is now progressing well. Akil bhai was accompanied by consultants to check on the progress of the construction work.
Mr. Tahirbhai and Mr. Harishbhai from Mohamedi Builders Ltd. were present in the meeting whereby several items were discussed in regards to the materials, quality etc. The underline purpose of the visits is to monitor the progress timely for the smooth running of the project and maintaining the quality of works.
Insha’allah, we are expecting the structure to be completed first week of August 2019.
Allamah Haji Naji Building:
The building was donated by Marhum Ebrahim Abdulrasul Fazel (Asthana Brothers) of Tanga to KSI Jamaat of Tanga for income generation to support the Madressah and any excess income to go towards the secular education of the children of our community. The building was named after the great Shia Scholar, Alhaj Gulam Ali Haji Ismail of Mumbai, India, was known with his preferred name “Haji Naji”. The donated building is known as “Haji Naji” Building”
The above building was inspected during the last visit 3rd May 2019 and agreed that the building needs to be demolished due to its poor state and unsafe condition. This is one of the several collaborations between Tanga Jamaat and Africa Federation.
Following the agreement, discussions were held to demolish the building safely. A team from Dar es Salaam was assigned with this work by the Afed Housing Board. The demolishing work was done with minimum disturbance to the neighbours and Mosque goers.
The demolish work started on Thursday 20th June 2019 after Dhuhrain prayers. A visit was made to the site on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd by Chairman of the Housing Development board, Consultants and Tanga Jamaat managing committee members.
The plan to demolish has been in the pipeline for some years now and finally it has been accomplished. During the first day of demolishing the building, part of the first-floor slab collapsed without being altered which is miraculous that it was in its state all these years. The demolishing of the building has been completed on Monday 24th June 2019 and boundary wall construction has started.
The coordinator from Tanga Jamaat Mr. Sameer Bandali has been cooperative and supportive to obtain the permits and was present there whenever needed.
During the visit, Tanga Jamaat Managing Committee and AFED Housing Board Chairman discussed on various options for redevelopment of the property for the advancement of the community to continue with the wishes of the donor.
AFED Housing board has requested Tanga Jamaat Managing Committee to come up with project assessment and need analysis with a medium and long term plans to present to the Africa Federation Office Bearers for consideration.
We pray to Allah (swt) for successful completion of Tanga Girls Hawza building project on time and also the Tanga Jamaat developments to increase in income generation to sustain its various activities and growth.
