ARUSHA AND DAR ES SALAAM MADRESSAH TEACHERS
RECEIVE MCE’S TSP DIPLOMA IN TEACHING
The World Federation – Madressah Centre of Excellence (WF-MCE) in collaboration with the Africa Federation Tabligh Board (AFTAB) held graduation ceremonies for the teachers of the Hussayni Madressah of KSI Jamaat of Dar es Salaam and Yadgare Murtazawi Madressah of KSI Jamaat of Arusha. Diplomas were awarded to the teachers who successfully completed Teachers’ Skills Program (TSP). The awards ceremonies were held in Dar es salaam in May 2019 and in Arusha in June 2019.
This was a milestone achievement for the 71 Madrassah teachers who graduated with a Diploma.
The TSP is the first of its kind program that initiates with a two-day intensive training followed by five Micro Teach sessions. These are especially designed to allow a teacher the opportunity to practise skills learnt and experiment with new ideas. The TSP key objectives are in equipping diverse professionals with the right mind-set and skill-set to successfully teach students in a safe learning environment.
This program has been running since the year 2016 in Africa and they are approximately 200 teachers at various stages of training. These 71 teachers are the first to have completed the full program and have been awarded with the Diploma in Teaching.
The Graduation ceremony for the Hussayni Madressah in Dar es Salaam was held on the 11th of May 2019. This was graced with the presence of Sheikh Murtadha Alidina Head of WF-IEB, Sayed Adeel Raza, Resident Aalim of Dar es salaam Jamaat, Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi, President of the World Federation, Aunali bhai Khalfan, Vice Chairman of Africa Federation, Azim bhai Dewji, President of Dar es Salaam Jamaat, Sayed Hassan Naqvi, Aftab Chairman , WF MCE – TSP facilitator Sayed Ali Naqvi Executive Councillor of the World Federation Ahmed bhai Daya and Hussein bhai Karim, AFED immediate past Hon. Secretary.

The program included addresses by the invited guests, a trip down memory lane and reflections by the teachers followed by the most awaited presentation of Diploma Certificates to all the Graduates. The highlight of the event was an emotional teachers pledge led by Sayed Ali Naqvi to seal the teachers’ commitment to the change they have undertaken whilst upholding the true guidance and value from The Qur’an and The Ahlulbayt.

In Arusha, the Ceremony was held on the 16th of June and attended by Sayed Hassan Naqvi, Chairman of Aftab and Sis Shaida Abdulrasul, TSP Lead Coordinator for Africa, Alhaj Shabbir bhai Virjee, President of Arusha Jamaat, Alhaj Rizwan bhai Peera, Head of Arusha Jamaat Tabligh and Sayed Imran Naqvi, Resident Aalim of Arusha Jamaat. With a similar program, the ceremony was attended by the graduates, close friends and family who witnessed them take their Teachers Pledge and receive their Diplomas.

These programs marked a momentous occasion in the history of the Madressahs whose teachers received the TSP accreditation. The TSP brings with it a benchmark that can be held up for all future Madrassah teachers with the objective of providing quality teaching at the madaris.
