9TH Muharram – Eve of Ashura
Imam Hussain made the ultimate sacrifice. His epic legacy inspires millions today. Imam Hussain, grandson of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWW), is a 7th century revolutionary figure whose legendary martyrdom at the Battle of Karbala, Iraq epitomized freedom, justice, honour and the greatest of divine values in the face of unholy oppression by the evil forces of Yazid son of Muawiya Ibn Abi Sufiyan.
On Monday 9th September 2019 (9th Day of Muharram 1441) a peaceful procession (Juloos) was organized for all ladies and gents that started at Bilal Muslim Mission Moshi Branch and ended at the KSIJ Mosque Moshi.
During the Juloos, poems were recited by both our Bilal and Khoja brothers. Bottled water was distributed to the public in the name of Imam Hussain (A.S) who was martyred thirsty with his family and companions in the desert field of Karbala, Iraq.
As the Juloos reached KSIJ Mosque Moshi, speech was given in the car park by one of our Bilal Sheikh followed by a Nauha and Ziyarat. After the Ziyarat, tabaruq’at, juice and water were distributed to all those present.
The function at the KSIJ Imambargha started at 8.00 p.m. On this night we commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussain’s youngest son Ali Asgher (A.S), who was 6 months old and was martyred thirsty by an arrow. The program started with a few Marsiyas followed by Majlis, Matam, and Ziyarat of Imam Hussain (A.S). Nyaz was served after the Ziyarat.
