MEDICAL COMMITTEE NEWSLETTER
Preamble
In its quest to keep the community aware of the happenings at Jaffery Medical, it has been decided to issue newsletters at regular intervals. The committee is pleased to present the first issue.
Besides the usual outpatient services which interalia include consultation, laboratory services, pharmacy, x-ray & ultrasound and minor theatre, the medical centre also holds special clinics on a weekly basis such as child welfare, family planning, antenatal, HIV and TB. There is also a nutritionist in attendance every Friday providing free service.
The latest improvement in the services enumerated above is the introduction of digital x-ray.

Functioning as a separate department is the dental clinic.
Arguably, the most important avenue of service to the less fortunate is the mobile clinic. This clinic is fully funded by the Jaffer Foundation and covers 7 centres on the South coast and 2 on the west mainland. The service is totally free which includes supply of medicines. Alhamdulillah this service is recognized and appreciated by the authorities.
To date, the north coast has not been covered by the mobile clinic, it is however the endeavor of Jaffery Medical to venture into that area soon.
Recently, in co-operation with the Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya, Jigger treatment was provided at Bilal centres in the south coast.
Recognition
In a joint exercise conducted by USAID and the County Government of Mombasa, services in relation to HIV and TB rendered by Jaffery Medical and a plaque was awarded in recognition.
