The Africa Federation (AFED) Secretariat is pleased to announce the appointment of Alhaj Hussein A. Karim of Dar-es-Salaam as the Chairman of the Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania (BMMT) for the term 2019 – 2022.
Brief Profile:
Alhaj Hussein Karim was born on 5th October, 1963 in Zanzibar, Tanzania. He is married with five children.
Hussein bhai has, over the past 40 years, served in several public, religious and charitable institutions involved in social and humanitarian services to the communities, thereby acquiring wide-ranging of experience in office administration, personnel management and public relations.
He has travelled overseas extensively and in the course of his travel, he has established good rapport with some overseas religious institutions, students and instructors.
Hussein bhai has also served as the Hon. Secretary of Africa Federation under the Chairmanship of Alhaj Shabir Najafi from 2016-2019, and has been the Central Bilal Board (CBB) Chairman since 2019.

Brief Profiles of the Board Members:
Central Bilal Board (CBB) of AFED fulfills its role under the broad Vision and Mission of the AFED’s External Tabligh Sector (CBB). As new trends and environment have kept arising with the new emerging challenges since the inception of CBB, there is an intention of re-visiting the structure under which CBB functions – to ensure that the Vision and Mission of External Tabligh continue with equal zeal and results.
In the meantime, however, Alhaj Hussein Karim, the Chairman of CBB has expressed his intention to relinquish his position with the CBB. In such an event Alhaj Mohamed Hemani, the CBB Vice Chairman and Alhaj Hassan Dewji, the CBB Hon. Secretary will continue with the administration of CBB until the intended restructuring exercise is completed, inshaAllah in due course.
