
The AFED Business Park was officially inaugurated on the 30th October 2021, which coincided with the 83rd Supreme Council Session and the launch of the 75th Anniversary celebrations of the Federation of Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri Jamaats of Africa also known as Africa Federation since its establishment. This occasion is a manifestation of the good progress the Africa Federation has made since its establishment in 1946.

The building consists of a basement, ground plus three floors, also includes showroom area, offices, banking hall, retail stores, exhibition hall and cafeteria that is connected with the current 20 warehouses with over 150 car parking space. The Business Park also has one cargo lift with a capacity of 3 tons.
The Structure located in the prime business area of the Dar es Salaam city, brings a much needed innovation in the standards and design of building and amenities in the in the market industry with 11,500 Square meters of built up area, 150 parking spaces, with a visibility on an elevated platform to the 10,000 vehicles movements daily that is by itself a marketing showcase.
The landmark event was graced with the presence of many guests which included the two past Chairmen of Africa Federation, Alhaj Ramzan Nanji and Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi, the World Federation President Alhaj Safdar Jaffer, past and present AFED Trustees, Chairmen and Presidents of various Jamaats of Africa, AFED Councillors and Invitees from both genders.

Alhaj Aunali Khalfan, the Vice Chairman of Africa Federation was the Master of Ceremony of the program. The program commenced with the beautiful recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Syed Muhamad Naqvi of the U.K.
In his address Alhaj Shabir Najafi, Chairman of Africa Federation, congratulated the Community and the Housing Development Board of Africa Federation on the launch of the building which is a vivid reflection of the hard work, efforts and time put in by Alhaj Akil Hirji, Chairman of the Housing Development Board and his team members Shakera bai Dhanani the Vice Chairperson, Zakia bai Khamisa the Legal Counsel and Mohamed Moledina, Projects Coordinator.

Alhaj Akil Hirji in his speech, pointed out that this project is truly unique and one of its kind in the area, and a first of its kind within the Khoja community globally which stands out prominently as a pride of the Khoja Community.
In celebrating the 75 years of AFED, the Housing Board Chairman also recorded various milestone achievements during the past six years and he commended the AFED Chairman Shabir bhai Najafi and his team for their leadership and vision.
These achievements include:
- 160 Housing Units.
- AFED Towers – fully owned income generating 11 storey building, which will be the hub of Africa Federation operations and activities.
- 8 storey Bilal Hawza building in Tanga which caters for more than 100 students
- AFED Business Park, a mega commercial property which would increase Africa Federation’s investment portfolio and revenue base for the growing needs of our community in several sectors.

Alhaj Sheikh Safder Jaffer, President of The World Federation commended AFED for its long vision and goals for the development infrastructure, and he also pointed out on the good work that is carried out by the Housing Development Board of Africa Federation; he said such projects generate income which support the religion which is the backbone of our community and long-term benefit for upcoming generations.
He also spoke on the important role played by the founders of Africa Federation whose sacrifices, hard work and forward thinking resulted into what we see today as we celebrate the 75 years of the existence and the inauguration of the AFED Business Park. He also mentioned on the formation of the World Federation whose founder leaders came from Africa bringing with them wealth of experience they had gained from Africa Federation.

The program then proceeded to the Awards Ceremony, where the various stakeholders were awarded with a token of appreciation for their contribution towards the completion of this milestone project.




The Program ended with a surprise raffle game where the first winner received a round trip to Dubai from Dar-es-Salaam and three other lucky winners received US Dollars Five Hundred each.

In closing, the Master of Ceremony on behalf of the AFED Housing Development Board conveyed appreciation and thanked each and every one who attended the program. Appreciation was conveyed to the Media team and all the volunteers for their services in making the event a successful and colorful one.
