The Bilal Muslim Mission Mosque in Udoe was built in 2009 and was donated by late Alhaj Asgherali Nazerali Bharwani and Hajiani Gulbanu Bai Asgherali Bharwani to Africa Federation. The Mosque is ideally located in Kariakoo area in Dar es salaam where many of our community members and local Shias live, many of them also have businesses in this bustling area. The Mosque is under the management of Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania ably supervised by Alhaj Noorul-Ain Sheriff, head of Udoe Mosque committee.
Alhamdulillah, the Mosque has successfully undergone major rehabilitation after 13 years since the inception. The major renovations of the Mosque, Madressah, Ladies section, washrooms including interior and exterior decoration was undertaken by Africa Federation Housing Development Board, under close supervision of Alhaj Akil Hirji, Chairman of the Housing Development Board and his team.
A number of donors and well-wishers have kindly donated funds for the major rehabilitation of the Mosque. We are very grateful for their financial support and their reward for the noble deeds shall be from Allah (SWT), as mentioned in the Holy Qur’an, Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:261.
“The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed which grows seven spikes, in each spike is a hundred grains. Allah multiplies His reward for whom He wills, for Allah is vast and knowing”.

The major rehabilitation works was undertaken by Moledina Construction Co. Ltd. as main contractor and several other sub-contractors such as Al-Anwar arts for decorations etc. were engaged, and the entire work was completed in 4 weeks’ time as planned within estimated budget.
The following areas of works were covered in the rehabilitation project:
- New screed with water proofing material for terrace floor to resolve the leakages.
- Repair of wall cracks and ceiling on the 2nd floor of Madressah class rooms and office.
- Terrazzo flooring covering 65% of the areas, including staircase, Madressah class rooms, library, external areas such as balcony, wudhoo area and corridors.
- Internal and external paint works including walls, doors and ceiling.
- Extension of the Mehrab, also to provide Namaz-e-Jamaat connection to the first floor where ladies are praying.
- Air condition installation works.
- Aluminium works.
- Electrical upgrading, new electrical wires, including installation of new lights, fans & switches.
- Modern ceiling works for the ground floor Mosque area.
- Media-Room and PA system upgrades.



On 10th March 2022, during the celebration of wiladats of Imam Hussein (‘A), Hazrat Abbas (‘A) and Imam Zainul Abideen (‘A). Soft Opening of the Mosque was performed following the completion of major rehabilitation works. Alhaj Noorul-Ain Sheriff the head of Udoe Mosque committee thanked all the donors, well-wishers, Africa Federation office bearers and trustees for the support. He also thanked Alhaj Akil Hirji and appreciated the tireless efforts and valuable time he provided to successfully complete the rehabilitation works to a good standard.
Alhaj Shabir Najafi, the Chairman of Africa Federation was accompanied by the Vice Chairman, Alhaj Aunali Khalfan, the Chairman of Housing Development Board, Alhaj Akil Hirji, Chairman of Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania, Alhaj Hussein Karim and the Head of Bilal Udoe Mosque Committee, Alhaj Noorul Ain Sheriff. In his address, the Chairman of Africa Federation thanked the family of the main donor of the Mosque; late Alhaj Asgherali Bhai Bharwani and his wife, Hajiani Gulbanu Bai Bharwani and for their continued support towards the Mosque. Shabir Bhai also thanked all the donors, well-wishers, the Bilal Udoe Mosque committee, the contractors and Housing Board Chairman for the efforts and the wonderful work carried out to bring the Mosque to a good standard with upgraded facilities.
We thank the generous donors and well-wishers for their support and donations. We pray to Allah (SWT) with the blessings of this holy month of Ramadhan to grant them and their families good health, long life and protection from all calamities, Aameen.
