Self-improvement and capacity building let individuals identify their personal strengths and learn to work with them. From relationships to careers – knowing one’s strengths is important for every sphere of one’s life.
It gives a better understanding of what one is seeking and where they can likely thrive and excel. It helps set life goals and find purpose. After all, you can only achieve what you want when you KNOW what you want.
By nurturing and using your strengths, you are more likely to attain success and move towards a happier and productive life.
This is what the Capacity Building Group strives for with its vision of “A Thriving Community.” Basically, it is creating vibrant, happy and confident individuals as they work and live within the community: as youth, as spouses, as families, as parents and as seniors with a fulfilling purpose.
One such inspiration can be drawn from Mumtaz bai Ladak who embarked on a journey of self-development and personal growth.
Mumtazbai is a member of the AFED-CBG Facilitator Team and the Lead for the Facilitator Development Program (FDP). She joined the team in 2011 and went on further for MBTI Certification, Facilitation Skills Training and Madrasah Assessors Training Program.
Mumtazbai’s strength lies in organizational development and structure thanks to her vast experience of 25 years in the madrasah system in North America in New York and Orlando. She had been very instrumental with Madrasah where she was a pioneer in its formation in Orlando and also served as a teacher and a Principal in the year between 1994 and 2007.
She worked with IEB Nasimco in the madaris initiative for several years and has served as executive councilor in Nasimco from 2006 onwards until her migration to Tanzania in 2011.
Although she was always in the forefront in extending her services to the community in different capacities, her journey in Capacity building and self-development became apparent in June 2010 when she participated in the LDP (Leadership Development Program) in Orlando. Towards the beginning of 2011, she moved to Arusha and in the same year in October there was an LDP in Arusha where she re-connected with her facilitators which paved the way in her becoming a board member of the Capacity Building Group. In 2012, there was a strategic planning meeting organized by the Tabligh Board in Dar es Salaam where she was invited by Marhum Syed Hassan Naqvi and she was a part of the organizational section. Furthermore, Mumtazbai was the lead of CBG during its early formation from 2013 – 2017.
She is currently working in a senior management position at Tanfoam and uses her skills manifolds in her company.
She is married to Zulfikar Hassanali Ladak and is blessed with 3 children and 5 grandchildren.
Mumtaz bai is a firm advocate in Accountability and Authenticity which she personally strives for especially with voluntary services. She believes that any responsibility should be performed with dedication and commitment.
As she continues her personal journey of self-development and growth, CBG would like to congratulate her on her recent appointment as the Chairlady of Arusha Jamaat for the term 2022 – 2024 and we wish her all the best in her endeavors.
We pray to the Almighty Allah (s.w.t) to grant tawfiq and good health to Mumtaz bai to keep on dedicating her services to the community and making a difference in lives. Ameen.
