The Chairman of the Africa Federation, Alhaj Amine Nassor is pleased to appoint Alhaj Fazle Ali Kassam as the Chairman of the Africa Federation Sports Council for the term 2022 – 2025.
Fazle Ali Kassam alias Fazal (pictured centre) is an avid sports fan; as Chairman of the Sports Council in the previous term, he brings to AFED a wealth of experience in the field of sports and aims to bring the community together through sports whilst ensuring that there are equal sporting opportunities for both brothers and sisters.
Fazal bhai was the Treasurer of the famous Tanzania Football Team – Simba in the early 90s and managed to see them being the only Tanzanian team to have ever made it to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Finals. Being an active sportsman, he has participated in numerous AFED Sports Festivals both as a participant and as an official.
On the Community front, he has held various positions in the Sports fraternity some of which are Chairman of Union Sports Club (Dar es Salaam), Ithnasheri Union (IU), Chairman of the organizing committee of the Urafiki Sports Festival held in Dar es Salaam in 2011 and member of the Sports Council under the chairmanship of Alhaj Mahmood Somji.
He has also served as a councillor of the Africa Federation and rendered his services in various community institutions in Dar-es-Salaam, such as Husayni Madressa, Juloos Committee, Mayyit committee, Solidarity day Ad-Hoc Committee among others.

Mujtaba Dungersi – Mombasa – Vice Chairman (pictured second from right)
Born and raised in Mombasa, Mujtaba completed high school at Jaffery Academy Mombasa and pursed his further education in USA. He presently runs the family owned business that deals with renovations, refurbishment and interior design in Mombasa.
Mujtaba has served as the Assistant Secretary of Mombasa Jamaat from the year 2015-2017 and has been a member of various other committees serving the Jamaat. He is currently the vice Chairman of the Jaffery Sports Board.
He is an avid cyclist and was a member of the Kenya Cycling and triathlon team in the years 2006-2008 and represented Kenya in various cycling and triathlon events Worldwide. Mujtaba is keen to ensure our communities at large participate actively in various sporting activities so as to live better lifestyles.
Ijaz Lalji – Arusha – Secretary (pictured first right)
Born and raised in Arusha, Ijaz is a Pharmacist by profession. He is currently working as a Junior Manager at Nsk Hospitals Arusha.
Ijaz is an active volunteer in Arusha serving different sectors. He is a member of the Media team, Secretary of Kilimeru Sports since August 2018, Vice Captain of Kilimeru Footbal since January 2017, Vice Chairman of Who is Hussain Arusha since April 2021 as well as representative of the Anwar Al Najafiya Foundation in Tanzania since February 2020.
Tahssin Amirali Khatau – Nairobi – Member (pictured third from left)
Tahssin is an accountant by profession. He works as a Manager at SV Trading Company Limited in Nairobi.Tahssin has seved as an MC member of SAAJ Nairobi for 2 years. He was also a member of Who is Hussain Nairobi.
He was the captain of Nairobi Jaffery Cricket team for 8 years.He is very active in many sports such as football, cricket, badminton and volleyball.
He is currently the head of volunteers in SAAJ Nairobi.
Tasneem Hassam – Dar es Salaam – Member (pictured first from left)
Tasneem is an active sports woman, she has taken part in lots of tournaments both nationally and internationally, recently she won a throwball tournament which was held in Dubai December 2022. She has received various awards for her excellence in sports. She is currently the head of the girls throwball team at Union Sports Club.
Tasneem has volunteered in many sectors of the Dar es Salaam Jamaat, from serving as the Central Board of Education Board Member (CBE) to currently being a Social Security General Support team Board Member. She was also AFED Sports Council Secretary for the year 2019 – 2022.
Tasneem resides in Tanzania and completed her degree in software engineering in Dar es Salaam. She is keen on continuing to be part of the AFED Sports Council and to empower women in our community.
Rubab Razahussein – Dar es Salaam – Member (pictured second from left)
Originally from Bukoba, where Rubab was born and reared, she travelled to Dar es Salaam to continue her Education.
She has always been intensely passionate about sports. She plays a number of sports, including football, basketball, cricket, badminton and throwball. She has subsequently participated in several sporting events in East Africa representing Dar es Salaam Jamaat, as well as internationally in the UNCP in Paris and the Unity Games in Dubai. She is a member of the Union Team that just recently took the throwball cup from Dubai a month ago.
Rubab works in the IT industry and is passionate about giving back to the community by serving on committees like Media, Darsa, MAZ, etc.
The AFED Secretariat extends its heartiest congratulations to Fazal bhai and his team on their appointment and wishes them success in the accomplishment of the Board’s goals and objectives set out for the term 2022 – 2025.
