Circular No.: JMT/043/23 Date: February 17, 2023

Based on the latest reports, more than 33,000 people have died across Turkey and Syria since the devastating earthquake struck the two countries, as hopes of rescuing more survivors dwindle amid freezing conditions and lack of equipment to clear piles of rubble of collapsed buildings.
Among the hundreds of thousands of victims, there are thousands of people languishing in hospitals and in temporary shelters. Difficult times have been experienced by these victims, some of them miraculously escaping death. Many of them are in urgent need of clothes, shelter, food and medical aid.
Africa Federation intends to conclude the appeal for fund collection by 25th February 2023. The total amount collected will be remitted to the World Federation before end of the month to assist in the relief of the ongoing work and other essential requirements for the victims.
Community members can send their contributions however small to help these affected people.
