Appointment of Media Editorial Board for the Term 2022 – 2025

The Chairman of Africa Federation (AFED), Alhaj Amine Nassor is pleased to announce the appointment of Salilabbas Bhai Sadak of Nairobi as Chairman of the Media Editorial Board of Africa Federation for the new term, 2022 – 2025.
Salilabbas Bhai (pictured third from right) attributes his roots to a humble upbringing in Mombasa Jamaat. Following his High School education at Jaffery Academy, he pursued his higher education in Economics & International Development at York University in Toronto.
Having lived in Mombasa, Toronto, Dar es Salaam and currently Nairobi, his experience in community service spans by a diverse career background in Business, Innovation, Banking and Media.
Most recently the Secretary of the Nairobi Jaffery Education Board for 3 years, his experience and fervent approach to community service continues to drive his zeal towards continually improving and innovating the various services offered to members of the community and community owned institutions.
He has also served in Nairobi as the head of Economic Development where he introduced various programs and initiatives during the strenuous COVID-19 period with great success.
Pictured above are the team that have exemplary backgrounds and a myriad of capabilities to serve on the Media Editorial Board and have been appointed alongside Salilabbas Bhai.
Br. Mazahir Dewji – Dar es Salaam (Pictured Third From Left)
Born and raised in Dar es Salaam – Tanzania and being part of one of the largest Jamaats, Mazahir Dewji, a youth aged 25 years tends to get involved with community affairs, what he calls his “second home”. He is very passionate when it comes to community Services and often tries to be among the first ones to offer any services & skills required that he acquires.
Mazahir also serves as the Vice Chairman of the AFED Economic Development Board. He has been volunteering in many sections of the Jamaat from serving the Mediaroom for 9 years to volunteering in different subsections like: Union Sports Club, Social Services committee, Development Society, etc.
Other than serving the Dar es Salaam, Mazahir plays an active role at the Global Who Is Hussain organisation and is currently the Social Media coordinator for the Dar es Salaam chapter. Mazahir is also an executive committee member coordinating the Media and Communications role at the Dar Ahlulbayt Society (DABSOC) – part of the Global Ahlulbayt Society (ABSOC) Network.
Br. Mohsin Haji – Nairobi (Pictured Second from Left)
Passionate about positive social impact and finding solutions for problems, Mohsin is excited to join the AFED media board, and support the team in achieving its vision. He enjoys working with startups and high growth potential companies in Africa, leading the Supply Chain in growing the business and increasing shareholder value. He enjoys reading, technology, travelling, connecting with nature, networking, learning and cooking!
Mohsin has a zeal for community service, and serves in various committees. He is currently on the pre-marital committee and also supports the SAAJ executive team in representing the community on a broader level via the United Asian Network in Kenya. In addition to that, he is also a certified mental health first aider.
Br. Zishan Chagpar – Nairobi (Pictured First from Left)
Working for one of the most reputable media and design houses in Kenya and with an enormous amount of experience both professionally and at a communal level, Zishan Bhai showcases a truly admirable myriad of skills in the media sector that bring immense value to the team. For past many years, Zishan Bhai has been in the AFED Education Board loan admin & recovery team for students from Nairobi Jamaat, and has been instrumental in supporting both, the students as well as the AFED Education Board.
Having served as the Head of SAAJ Media room for several years, Zishan Bhai has been fortunate to witness a transformative era where transmission of media has evolved from analogue to digital systems.
Sis. Shaista Kassam – Dar es Salaam (Pictured Second from Right)
Shaista Kassam moved to Dar es Salaam three years ago from London, U.K. Growing up in one of the biggest Jamaats in Europe- Shaista is no stranger to big communities.
She has always been passionate about introducing innovative ways to market religion, spirituality and community related content.
Shaista is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in the Psychology of Mental Health and Well-being, with the hopes of establishing a stronger base in the mental health sector within our communities.
Sis. Sarah Bharwani – Dar es Salaam(Pictured First From Right)
Sarah is a 17-year old high school student who currently resides in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and intends to further complete her studies in Canada.
Sarah is a member in two Islamic organizations known as Who is Hussain and Hussains Ark of Salvation.
She has an incredible capacity for taking risks and is deeply devoted and enthusiastic. She enjoys giving back to her community, and is usually found participating in numerous Islamic events and volunteering at the mosque or mehfil.
