The International Islamic Conference titled ‘Intellect and Revelation’ – ‘Relations and Ijtihadi Implications’ was held from the 10th to 12th of March 2023. The Conference was organized by The Islamic Education Department of the World Federation in collaboration with the Africa Federation through its Tabligh Board (AFTAB), and hosted by KSI Jamaat of Dar Es Salaam. The Conference aimed to bring together Islamic scholars, intellectuals, and experts to discuss the relationship between intellect and revelation, and its implications for ijtihad.
The Conference was attended by a large number of participants from different parts of the world. The keynote speakers included renowned Islamic scholars and intellectuals who presented their research on various topics related to the Conference theme.
The event was well-attended by Resident Aalims of Africa Federation constituent Jamaats, Sheikhs from Bilal Muslim Mission from Kenya, Tanzania and other institutions from various African countries. The presence of a large number of invitees added to the success of the Conference.
The Conference provided a platform for scholars to share their research and engage in meaningful discussions with attendees. The Q&A sessions allowed for further clarification and discussion of the presented topics. The panel discussions and workshops provided opportunities for attendees to engage in collaborative learning and exchange of ideas.
It was an immense privilege to have the esteemed presence of the Chairman of Africa Federation, Alhaj Amine Nassor, Vice Chairman Alhaj Aunali Khalfan, Hon. Secretary Alhaj Zuhair Jaffer, Chairman of AFTAB Alhaj Sajjad Walji, the President of World Federation Alhaj Safdar Jaffer, and the President of Dar Es Salaam Alhaj Mohammed Raza Dewji in our midst.
A welcome address was delivered by the President of KSI Jamaat of Dar es Salaam, Alhaj Mohamedraza Dewji who spoke on the importance of maintaining good relationships with National Muslim Council of Tanzania and also with the local communities which the Jamaat have been striving for several years, he mentioned that the Hon. Mufti of Tanzania, Sheikh Abubakar Dr. Zubeir Bin Ally was invited for the opening of the Conference as Chief Guest, unfortunately he was unable to attend due to ill health.
Alhaj Amine Bhai delivered a brief address, expressing his appreciation for the opportunity to participate in this conference. His words were filled with the utmost respect and admiration for the importance of this conference, stating that it is filled with the light of Islamic knowledge and the luminaries of our organizations worldwide.
Mulla Sajjad Walji also spoke briefly and shared his thoughts on the significance of this Conference. He highlighted the fact that just being in the presence of Ulema is an act of worship and that we are fortunate to have such scholars across the globe.
During the Islamic Conference, a number of publications were released. The first of these was Tafsir Tadabbur Quran, a book that provides reflective commentary on the Holy Quran. This book was the result of the hard work of a few scholars who were supervised by Shaykh Ghorbanpour and Shaykh Tahir Raza Jaffer. The second publication, Al-Qalm Journal, was written by Sheikh Ali Al Hakeem. The third publication, The Islamic Laws 4th Edition, which was translated and annotated by Sheikh Mohammed Ali Ismail was also released during the Conference. Lastly, Anecdotes for Reflection by Sayyid Ali Akbar Sadaqaat was also presented. It is worth noting that all of these publications were released with the utmost care and attention to detail.
At the Conference, attendees were privileged to receive a special address from Ayatollah Sayyid Ahmed Madadi. The keynote speakers, Sayyid Muneer Al Khabbaz and Shaykh Dr Murtadha Alidina, delivered insightful presentations on their respective topics. Additionally, a number of scholars presented on a range of subjects related to Intellect and Revelations.

The quality of discussions and interactive sessions at the Conference was exceptional, with attendees engaging in thoughtful and stimulating conversations. The opportunity to network with other Islamic leaders was invaluable, allowing attendees to forge new connections and strengthen existing relationships.
The Africa Federation Tabligh Board records its appreciation to the World Federation for availing them an opportunity to have this important Conference in Africa and to the Dar-es-Salaam Jamaat for successfully hosting the Conference.
Our deepest appreciation goes the Dar Es Salaam Jamaat Organizing Committee for the Conference, they worked tirelessly and spending sleepless nights to ensure seamless organization of the Conference and various related facilitations, like the meeting hall setting, equipment hiring, catering, transport and other services throughout the 3 days Conference. We are proud of their dedication and commitment to serve Islam and the Community, May Allah (SWT) grant them more Tawfeeqat.
