Africa Federation is pleased to receive the support from Murabbi Alhaj Raza Aly Hiridjee for Higher Education Loan Scheme for students of the constituent Jamaats under Africa Federation. The importance of Higher Education cannot be emphasized enough, among several advantages, it provides opportunity for students to step-out into new avenues of learning and gaining knowledge for their future well-being and development.
The Hiridjee family from Madagascar are renowned for their philanthropic approach towards education and other social services in our community globally and the society in general. The family have played significant roles in the community in different spheres, including religious and secular education, social services, including development of human resources and infrastructure.
At a recent meeting in Harefield, London between Alhaj Raza Aly Hiridjee and Alhaj Aunali Khalfan, the Vice Chairman of Africa Federation, the subject of Higher Education for students from Africa Federation was discussed in depth. Alhaj Raza Ali Bhai who has always maintained great empathy in supporting Africa Federation’s initiatives in the field of education of our community’s younger generation was keen to understand the needs. At this meeting, the two leaders saw great potential and need to further enhance Higher Education in Africa and agreed to pursue their vision in offering opportunities to our children for better future through the loan scheme. Alhaj Aunali Bhai expressed his delight on the outcome of the meeting and appreciated Alhaj Raza Aly Bhai’s kind gesture to supplement Africa Federation’s current loan scheme (HELP).
Africa Federation wishes to thank Alhaj Mahmood Dhalla of the WF Secretariat for his support and guidance in the field of education for the students from Africa, particularly to our Education Board. Alhaj Aunali Khalfan had a fruitful meeting with Mahmood Bhai at Harefield in London during the WF Conference recently.
The Hiridjee Loan comes at a pivotal time for the Higher Education, offering financial support to two male and two female students annually, each receiving USD $10,000 per annum for a maximum duration of four (4) years starting from this year (2023-2024). The fund is dedicated to assisting students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in any renowned universities, in Africa or Overseas.
The current application conditions and processes for the loan will apply to all eligible students; minimum requirement is completion of ‘A’ levels education with good grades.
The Chairman, Alhaj Amine Nassor, Office Bearers and the Education Board of Africa Federation wishes to record their sincere appreciation to the Hiridjee family for their timely support. We pray to the Almighty to grant the Hiridjee family members long and healthy life with prosperity. We pray also for the Marhumeen of Hiridjee family for their maghferat and may He rest their souls in the proximity of Ahlulbayt (A.S.), Ameen.
