
The Africa Federation Tabligh Board (AFTAB) in collaboration with the Africa Youth Network (AYN) and the Education Board (EB) organized a Pre-University Prep Course for youths aged 16-20 in Dar es Salaam from the 1st – 9th of July 2023.
This course successfully brought together participants from various Jamaats, including Arusha, Dar es Salaam, Kigali, Madagascar, Mombasa, Nairobi, Tanga and Zanzibar. The primary objective of this course was to equip the youth with the essential tools and skills needed to navigate the challenges they may encounter as they step into the world of higher education. The comprehensive program aimed to address the socioeconomic variations, threats to beliefs, changes in upbringing, and the shift to independent living that come with entering adulthood.
Course Content and Activities:
The pre-university prep course incorporated a well-rounded curriculum consisting of spiritual sessions, insights into university life, team-building activities, engaging discussion circles, sports and enjoyable recreational events. These components were carefully designed to cater to the diverse needs and interests of the participants, ensuring a holistic learning experience. The activities included:
- Notetaking skills
- Soccer Tournament
- Waterpark and paintball
- Washing and stitching
- Sports at Hayaat Gym
- Treasure Hunt
- Beach Day
- Budgeting Skills
- Cooking Skill



The speakers at the course included; Sheikh Ali Rajani (Qom) who was also the Program Coordinator, Sheikh Ali Zaidi (Qom), Sheikh Yassir Rajabali (Qom) and Sister Sadaf Mirza (Pakistan).
Topics Discussed:
Throughout the course, participants delved into various thought-provoking subjects, enabling them to explore different aspects of their upcoming university journey. Some of the topics covered included:

Course Structure and Schedule:
The classes were conducted in the morning hours, allowing participants to engage in interactive learning sessions. In the afternoons, energizing activities were organized to promote teamwork and enhance interpersonal skills. Furthermore, evening discussion sessions were held after dinner, creating a platform for participants to reflect and engage in meaningful conversations.
Closing Ceremony:
The pre-university prep course concluded with a memorable closing ceremony held at Sea Scape Hotel on the 9th of July. Alhaj Aunali Bhai Khalfan, the Vice Chairman of AFED, expressed his heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to all individuals involved in organizing and facilitating the course. The event served as a fitting culmination of the program, highlighting its unique and transformative nature.
In conclusion, the pre-university prep course successfully achieved its objective of preparing young individuals to face the challenges that accompany the transition to university life. By addressing spiritual, academic, and social aspects, the course equipped participants with essential tools and a strong foundation to thrive in their higher education journey.
