During the Opening Night of the 86th Supreme Council Session of the Africa Federation held in Kampala on Friday 29th September 2023, the Africa Federation Central Health Board (CHB) conducted an appreciation ceremony to recognize and express gratitude for the unwavering commitment, support, and assistance provided by Alhaj Mohamed Taki Jaffer and Alhaj Sadique Jaffer through the Jaffer Family Foundation of New York (JFF), a charitable organization based in the United States.
Supporting Health Medical Services
JFF has generously donated three ambulances to G1 Security Company, a gesture that was acknowledged and praised by both the Africa Federation and CHB.
This marks the second time JFF has contributed to the cause, as they previously donated an ambulance to the same company in December 2022 for use in Dar es Salaam. The newly donated ambulances will serve in Arusha, Tanga, and Zanzibar, playing a crucial role in delivering emergency and humanitarian services to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
These gestures of goodwill reflect the Jaffer Family’s dedication to humanitarian projects, with active involvement in 35 worldwide initiatives showcasing their ongoing dedication to making a positive impact on a global scale.
Supporting AFED Housing Projects
A milestone was achieved between JFF & AFED by addressing an acute shortage of housing for the eligible members in Dar-es-Salaam.
In a further display of their commitment, Jaffer Family Foundation have pledged a significant grant of Two Million Five Hundred Thousand United States Dollars (US $2,500,000) to support housing projects for the deserving; the impact will be significant for our housing shortage and it will be undertaken by the Africa Federation, subject to the MOU to be signed in due course.
Supporting Education in Dar es Salaam via GRANT! And full Medical and STEM scholarships
JFF has also extended its philanthropic efforts by announcing additional substantial donations to the Africa Federation. The trustees of the Foundation, Alhaj Mohamed Taki Jaffer and Alhaj Sadique Jaffer, committed to a generous Grant contribution of One Hundred Thousand United States Dollars (US $100,000) specifically designated towards educational support for students of Dar es Salaam Jamaat.
As part of their commitment to women’s empowerment, JFF has funded five full scholarships for girls to pursue medical studies at Muhimbili Hospital or other medical institutions in Tanzania. Additionally, JFF is extending its support of female education by funding two scholarships through the Africa Federation, specifically for girls to study STEM degrees at universities in the United States.
The Africa Federation Chairman Alhaj Amine Nassor, on behalf of the Office Bearers, recorded his profound appreciation to the Jaffer Family Foundation for their generous donations and support and prayed to the Almighty to grant them a long and healthy life with more tawfeeqat to continue such noble work, Ameen.
