STATEMENT
IN RESPONSE TO THE ACCUSATIONS AGAINST THE FEDERATION OF KSI JAMAATS OF AFRICA BY THE SHIA ASNA ASHERI JAMAAT OF NAIROBI (SAAJ) ON DECEMBER 15, 2023.
It is with deep regret and consternation that Africa Federation (AFED), the parent body has been accused through the social media platform. These unfounded accusations against AFED were made by the Chairman of SAAJ through social media to scores of people in several parts of the world on December 15, 2023. We have taken time and given deep thoughts on these serious accusations.
On several occasions we have asked our Member Jamaats to refrain from using social media platforms to communicate institution’s internal matters; verily, it is causing undue distress, misunderstanding and undermines the status of our institutions.
At the 86th Supreme Council Session in Kampala in September 2023, I made it very clear regarding the misuse of social media platforms and explained how such reckless attitude can cause irreparable damage to individual members and institutions.
SAAJ Chairman was present at the Supreme Council Sessions in Kampala whereby all that he has written in the social media were discussed freely and deliberated upon in the Supreme Council in the presence of SAAJ (Jamaat) Councillors also; surprisingly, during the deliberations at which SAAJ Chairman was party to, decided to walk out from the Sessions on several occasions, such behavior shows disrespect to the Chair and to the respected Councillors.
Many of you are aware that AFED was founded by our forefathers with great sacrifices and under difficult conditions to bring it up to the current status. AFED is the oldest and well established Regional Federation since 1946 – 77 years since its inception.
SAAJ Chairman has also included in his communication the internal letter which was addressed to the Africa Federation office bearers and the Housing Board on 27th May 2022 in regards to the AFSAAJ Housing Project in Nairobi going back to almost 6 years. Such action is indicative of malicious intentions as the subject matter has been dealt with accordingly by the then Chairman of AFED and the Chairman of the Housing Development Board. It’s appalling to see the letter being put in the social media at this point of time.
The Managing Committee of Nairobi Jamaat, associated with its Chairman is part of demagoguery and without prior discussion with Africa Federation have ventured into false denunciation in social media which is totally an irresponsible attitude in their capacities as responsible people for Jamaat. AFED will take any appropriate action with this regard.
The letter of 5 issues which were communicated by the SAAJ Managing Committee and Nairobi Jamaat Councillors in social media, will be dealt with appropriately at the Supreme Council Session.
As a policy, AFED do not respond to such communications vide the social media.
We pray to Allah (SWT) for His continuous blessings in promoting Unity and Good Understanding amongst our Community in Africa and Globally, Aameen.
Amine Nassor,
Chairman
The Federation of KSI Jamaats of Africa
