Every year Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania (BMMT) Management meets with Zonal Supervisors as well as Hawza Heads to receive and discuss reports, review challenges and performance, and set targets for the incoming year. These meeting are very important to achieve uniformity and synchronisation between all the Zones in the county. Present were the Coast and Southern Zone, the Central Zone, the Lake Zone, the Kagera Region, the Tanga Zone, the Northern Zone, the Southern Highland Zone, the Tabora Region, Kigoma Region, and Zanzibar Zone. Each Zone manages between 10 to 65 centres.
The three-day sessions started on January 11 & 12, 2024 at Hauzat Bilal Temeke and ended on January 13, 2024 at AFED Tower Training Centre. This being the third such an annual gathering.
BMMT Chairman – Alhaj Hussein Karim and Vice Chairman Alhaj AbdulWahid, Coast Zone Chairman Alhaj Aziz Rajani, led the various sessions. The closing session was graced by the presence of AFED’s office bearers led by its Vice Chairman – Alhaj Aunali Khalfan and the Hon. Treasurer, Alhaj Zainul Chandoo.
Various issues were discussed during the session, including evaluating the performance of the year 2023 and discussing the implementations of the 2024 plans.
In Tabligh Dept strategies were laid to improve tabligh at the centres especially teaching in madrassa and quality of teaching, importance of an economic activity both for members and the centres as well as strengthening Hawza management and academic standards as well as motivating the parents to ensure their children get both religious and secular education.

Alhaj Aunali Khalfan in his closing remarks pointed out on the importance of maintaining cordial relationships with our Sunni brothers and with other sects/faiths in the country. He emphasised on building newer bonds of relationships through visiting each other and inviting them in programs such as Milad-un-Nabi, Inter-Faith Iftars, Imam Hussain Day etc.
Alhaj Zainul Chandoo spoke on the importance of streamlining reporting, timely reports and management of finance and donor’s funds. He underlined the need for the Zonal Supervisor to actively take part in the management of the Centres, regular visits and reporting to win donor’s confidence and meet our requirements.
Alhaj Hussein Karim thanked the AFED office bearers for their support to Bilal Tanzania and for attending the closing session of the 3-day program which ended on Saturday, January 13 over lunch.
