The Chairman of the Africa Federation, Alhaj Shabir Najafi is pleased to announce the appointment of Alhaj Seyed Hassan Naqvi as the Chairman of the Africa Federation Tabligh Board (AFTAB) for the term 2019 – 2022.
Seyed Hassan has served in the same position for three terms, from 2011 – 2019. His vast experience and dedication in the field of Tabligh has been exemplary thus will provide renewed impetus in meeting the goals and objectives of the Board aligned with the vision and goals for internal Tabligh in all Jamaats under Africa Federation.
Brief Profile
Seyed Hassan Naqvi is the eldest son of late Maulana Seyed Ansar Hussein Naqvi one of the first Missionaries under Africa Federation to serve our community in Africa, his first posting was in Moshi Jamaat in 1953. Late Seyed Ansar Hussein was a graduate from Madrassatul Waezeen in Lucknow, India. He passed away on 6th July 1982 in Dodoma and was buried in Dar es Salaam, may Allah (SWT) grant him maghferat and the choicest place in the proximity of our Aeema-e-Tahireen (AS), Ameen.
Seyed Hassan is the Director of TBX Global Freight Tz Ltd. operating a transport & logistics company based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He is married to Rehana bai, the daughter of the past President of Dar es Salaam Jamaat, Alhaj Rajabali Amarsi Alibhai and are blessed with two boys and two girls.
Seyed Hassan has served in various capacities in the organizations of our community in Africa and in the U.K. these are:
- 1984 – 1992 – Chairman – Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri Jamaat – Dodoma
- 1999 – 2003 – Hon Secretary – KSIMC of Birmingham
- 2010 – 2019 – Chairman – Africa Federation Tabligh Board (AFTab)
- 2011 – 2014 – Electoral Commissioner – World Federation

Greater emphasis during this term shall be focused towards effective net-working with institutions of higher learning in the field of the religion of Islam and the Madh’ab of Ahlulbayt (AS).
Similarly, more attention shall be placed on the continuation and monitoring of the reformation of our Madressahs in our Jamaats of Africa to promote and harness better understanding of the religion of Islam, the Holy Qur’an and the Madh’ab of Ahlulbayt (AS) to the children from an early age, and at the same time bring up standards of training for the Madressah Teachers and Administrators and in the teaching methods thus harmonizing these key elements of the Madressah in our systems in all Jamaats under Africa Federation. These are amongst several goals set for AFTAB during this term.
The AFED Secretariat extends its heartiest congratulations to Seyed Hassan Naqvi and his team on their appointments and wishes them every success in attaining the goals and objectives set out for the term 2019-2022.
